Pearl Academy School Programs

Preschool, Kindergarten, and Grade School Programs                                                From preschool, kindergarten, and beyond, active children learn better in a private school setting.

Pink Pearl Gymnastics offers a home school style program through Pearl Academy.  See PDF flyers linked below.

Our Program for Preschool age, Kindergarten, first grade, second grade students need lots of activity to stay focused on learning the basics.  From third grade through fifth grade all students begin to build on the basics and start learning more complicated topics.  If they don’t have a good foundational learning, they lose focus on trying to learn the complicated.  In some cases, the complicated becomes unobtainable, our private school approach lets us, and our program help you!

What is a Summer Bridge Program?

A summer bridge program offers to bring our preschoolers, kindergarten, and grade school students current on where they should be educationally on grade level.  We base this off of the Virgina Guidelines for learning objectives for each grade.  Then once we know they are current we bring them into their next grade level topics so they are more prepared for the grade they will enter in September.  Parents also get an opportunity to experience a private school environment with a unique outlook for educating children.

Interested in exploring programming for your active child? Pink Pearl Gymnastics is offering an introductory Summer Bridge home-school style experience through its private school, Pearl Academy, this summer!  Our Summer Bridge program is designed to refresh your child’s knowledge of the grade they just graduated from and propel them into the upcoming grade.  How great would it be for your child to start the school year ahead of the game!  For Preschool and Kindergarten, we have age specific learning objectives.

The all-day Summer Bridge program and preschool is set up so that students can catch up on school topics from last year and preview topics for the next year. This new home-school style program is designed to let parents try homeschooling or private school over the summer before making a commitment for the upcoming school year.  The Program includes Preschool, Kindergarten, and students up to 5th grade.  This private school is unique because of our fitness integration to the traditional school learning.

If you want your preschool, kindergarten or grade school child to spend quality time in a school classroom environment having fun, getting fit, and learning new things then Pink Pearl Gymnastics’ Pearl Academy is your answer!

Pearl Academy is establishing a school program based on homeschooling curriculum, in the belief that all children deserve a great education.  One that teaches them knowledge as well as how to find that knowledge and apply it to critical thinking.  Critical thinking leads to problem solving.  At Pearl Academy we believe each student is capable of learning more by using the time allotted in an efficient manner.  Pink Pearl Gymnastics thinks that early school age children learn the basics that stay with them throughout their school life.  We also believe that by challenging our students they will excel in their studies as long as four key things are present:

What is the Pearl Academy Daily schedule like?

Physical Education

Basic skills, building of strength, developing balance and flexibility. Young gymnasts will learn splits, bridges, handstands, cartwheels, etc.  Weather at the preschool/kindergarten level or grade school level there are skills that each gymnast needs to learn in progression.

Conditioning, building up endurance, developing the whole-body strength.

All kind of sport games – we care about sports and fun as well.

Education of the Mind

From preschool, kindergarten, and beyond, active children learn better.

Reading & Writing & Arithmetic

Strong focus on emergent literacy, reading of age – appropriate books, Bible stories, vocabulary introduction; learning writing and language, spelling discoveries, and math skills age-specific.  By reading books on Science, History, or Geography student develop a desire to learn more about each subject.  A curious child will spend lots of time on a subject that interest them; it is our job to spark that interest.  Each school grouping (preschool, kindergarten, grade school level 1-6) all have learning objectives specified by the Virginia Department of Education and Pearl academy uses their guidelines to ensure our students are on level or above.

Foreign Language (Russian)

Discover an amazing journey of reading, writing, and speaking in a Foreign Language. Studying the culture and traditions of Russia and Europe. (optional)

Time and assistance will be provided for the homework assignments.

Arts & Crafts

Fun projects, drawing, making cards, knitting – enjoy the imagination and creativity of your child.

Science, Geography, & History

Fun science projects, learning about different places through reading and arts, and also reading the History through the eyes of those who were there.  Imagine learning about our nations creation from those who created it.  Their life stories are truly fascinating.

What are the four key elements of a great learning environment in a School

The four elements to a great learning environment is the foundations of how Pearl Academy came about.  Seeing our Gymnastics students struggling with their education we thought we could do more for our pearls than just teach them a great sport.  Our Head coach also holds a Master of Education degree and knows about educating our youth.

1. A learning environment free of distractions from misbehavior.

2. An understanding of each student’s ability to learn and how each student responds to different techniques.

3. A quality curriculum that allows for students to learn advanced grade specific studies to match their ability. Prek-K and on to 5th grade reading enhances learning in a private school setting

4. Having confidence in their own abilities; teaching confidence helps a child learn more.

How do you create a great learning environment?

By controlling the behavior of students there will be less distractions and more time for learning.  A smaller class can allow more interactions with the teacher, the subjects, and student’s feedback.  Pearl Academy wants to focus on “Yes I Can” vice “I cannot”.  Each student will be stronger in some subjects, and not as strong in others. Identifying these strength and weakness is key, and rather than letting the weakness become the focus or a reason to be shy; encourage.  Our students will build confidence and enhance their learning in preschool, kindergarten, and 1st grade through 5th grade.  Further, we want the focus on the strengths while working on improvements.  Preschool age children have a strong capacity to learn; by nurturing it they will want to learn more.  Kindergarten age children will learn when the learning environment helps them be active and study.

School art should be fun
