Where Does our Health and Energy come from?

The food we eat gets digested by mixing with fluids (either Acids or Enzymes) and is broken down into Glucose.  This is where our energy comes from.  From the brain to the heart and every muscle or organ in the body needs energy to function.

How does the Stomach help produce energy?

The mouth is the starting place for digestion; our taste buds recognize different foods and presets the stomach to digest it.   stomach is the starting place for breaking down the food we eat.  While lots of diets restrict or eliminate some foods they all eventually break down into useable glucose.  Obviously, any excess consumption is not as beneficial as balanced eating.  While breaking down food for energy it also extracts the other nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and even metals that the body needs to stay healthy.

What part does the small and large intestines play in both energy and health?

A combination of stomach and intestines play a vital role in getting the Glucose into the blood stream and provide the necessary energy to all the organs, muscles and cells.  The intestines is where the nutrients are extracted and distributed throughout the body.  Once the glucose is in the blood stream it is either used or stored; storage and use is where insulin plays a big role.  Insulin captures the glucose and takes it out of the blood stream for storage, without this function we would have too much glucose in our blood stream.  Insulin also helps the body to use this energy in the form of glucose.  Insulin in the blood stream travel throughout the body opening cell “doors” that allow the organs to accept the glucose.

How does the Body Makes Insulin?

Insulin is a hormone; and like other hormones in the body, it is used to regulate other body functions.  In fact, many body issues (Diseases, illness etc. comes from Hormone imbalances) the Pancreas is where the insulin is manufactured.  Like other organs the in the body it needs glucose for energy to function.  Our Body has “Beta” cells which constantly monitor the glucose, and insulin levels in order to regulate a balance.

How does the Body maintain a balance of and make Insulin and glucose?

the kidneys come into play when the blood sugar levels reach 180 or higher.  The Kidney then tries to eliminate the excess glucose or sugar via urine.  By the function of eliminating excess sugar or glucose it makes the body thirsty in order to eliminate even more excess.  This equivalent to an emergency relief valve can also remove too much at once and cause someone to actually loose energy.  Causing us to be thirsty and hungry all over again.

What can we do to help regulate our body when it goes into the cycle of too much and then too little glucose?

Eat balanced meals at regular times and try not to overindulge.  Keep in mind the body can make you thirsty and hungry when your blood sugar levels starts to become imbalanced; these warning signs should be noticed, they could be early warnings of diabetes.
